Tips to first date (for the guys)

Since it's the weekend, got lots of spare time and i've been sleeping quite a bit during the day. Something came into my mind last night while i was trying to sleep at 2.30am.

Last sunday, met up with peishan to satisfy my chee chong fun craving @ raffles city food court. Ended disappointed with the dry chee chong fun and xiaolong baos. After which, went to gloria jeans @ marina square to enjoy the 1-for-1 coffee treat. We were kinda surprise to receive a call from Neil. He wanted to meet us for dinner, haha! I mean knowing that there were only the girls, he still came down to meet us. So, i suggested Central (cos it's rather new, and we were around the area, no harm checking it out). After walking rounds and rounds, we finally decided on Waraku. Woo, i like their curry udon noodles. Super Q (chewy)!

Then Neil went on to talk about his first dates with girls, he said that the girls don't really want to go out with him after the first date. Poor Neil. So I asked him: "Were you like quiet during the dates?" He said yes. I can't blame him for behaving like that. Especially, when you are out with a girl who have something for. I mean, anyone would feel the need to impress. However, the more you wanna impress, the worse it gets. The situation don't always turn out what you wanted it to be. Cos you have no idea what the other party is thinking or don't know what to say so that it doesn't feel very odd.

Yes, to help my fellow guy friends out who found some girl that they are interested, these are some tips which i came up with:

  1. Do some homework on her. Like, what kind of stuff she's interested in and what kind of person she is. (but of course, if you are one of those superficial guys who only goes for her body or looks and your motive is to get her to sleep with you, GET LOST! Now you know why more girls are turning lesbians these days, becos of men like you!)
  2. Be yourself. Be confident.
  3. Ok, don't have things to talk about? Well, i think guys you should read more things such as magazines, newspaper etc. I think any girl would be impressed if you are knowledgable. The more you read, the more things you know, the easier to come up with things to talk about.
  4. REFRAIN from talking about your army life & your computer games. I understand that you have gone through alot during army and you wanna share your army stories with the girl that you like. I think it's no harm sharing SOME of the stories, probably the more interesting ones but not ALL! or even go into details and all the army lingo starts to come in. Yes, computer games! i know some girls are quite into them but if you know that your girl is not, then please don't go there.
  5. Be a gentleman. Such as hold the door for her and etc.

So far, this is how much i can think of. Hope it helps.

Note: This is only my personal opinion, doesn't guarantee if the girl would go on further dates with you. It all depends if she's interested in you. *Good Luck!* ;)
